Aquarium’s Videoconferencing Program Recieves Award

The Aquarium received the 2013-2014 Pinnacle award from the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC) for its educational videoconferencing programs. The Pinnacle award is given to institutions that receive top scores on program evaluations from teachers. Teacher evaluations score educational content and program delivery.

Through the Aquarium’s Roddenberry Foundation Education Videoconferencing Studio, launched in 2011, teachers and other program planners can request one of seven different videoconference programs with an Aquarium educator. Once a session is scheduled, the Aquarium educator is able to teach and interact with groups of people in a screen-to-screen format similar to online video chat.

The Aquarium previously received the Pinnacle award for videoconferencing in 2011-2012.

CILC is a nonprofit organization specializing in the utilization of videoconferencing and collaborative technologies for live interactive content and professional development within K-20 education and lifelong learning.
