John Sangmeister, president of Gladstone’s Long Beach, presented a check to Aquarium President and CEO Jerry Schubel in support of sustainable seafood and climate resiliency programs on May 1, 2015.
The seafood restaurant, located along the waterfront at Rainbow Harbor near the Aquarium, raised $8,148 in support of the Aquarium’s Seafood for the Future (SFF) program and the Aquarium’s efforts to make Long Beach a climate-resilient city.
Gladstone’s Long Beach is an SFF partner restaurant. Their menus are evaluated semi-annually by SFF to ensure the most up-to-date recommendations. SFF also reviews copies of the most recent invoices at the time of evaluation to improve transparency and accountability. In addition, a portion of the restaurant’s seafood offerings come from well-managed California fisheries and farms when in season.
